Toy Library

We've been on the waiting list at the Toy Library for ages and finally they called me up to say we made it to the top. So I whipped over and joined up and grabbed a few toys for Nathan. It's cool coz they have lots of BIG stuff that you may never buy but it's cool to have it for a few weeks. So I got him a basketball hoop, which mostly he likes to kick the ball around rather than shoot hoops. I also got him a rocking horse thingo and a play shop. He here is after his nap with heaps of energy shooting hoops.

"DUE DATE"

Well today is the official 'due date'. After such a long wait past due date with Nathan I am very mindful that this day means nothing really. I guess it could happen any day now but at this stage I am very comfortable to wait a bit longer and make the most of the time before things really change. I'm sure if it gets to next weekend I will definitely be wanting her to arrive as it does become a drag waiting too long. So in the mean time I'll field the calls and txt's and bebo messages of enquiry as to whether anything has happened yet. But no doubt most of you who read this will be some of the first people to know when it does go down, so be patient and keep your phones on ready for the mass txt that will go out. Think of me waddling around with this big belly until that time comes :)

Lollipops and All Blacks

Watching the All Blacks beat the Aussies on the big screen. Go the All Blacks!! Also below some gingerbread men doing the haka, an ad for the best bakery comp in NZ. Nathan loves it.

Cuddles for Kael

Nathan is getting some practice in before his baby sister comes. He enjoyed giving Kael kisses and cuddles. I'm sure he's going to be a good big brother, like he's a good big cousin.

Holiday at Nanny and Poppa's

Nathan has spent the week in the Mount enjoying some time with his grandparents. I've missed him heaps but also enjoying some time to myself. I've had a couple of sleep ins, watched a couple of dvds, had a facial, completed some crafty creations i've wanted to do for around the house, done some cleaning and tidying, got the baby's room ready. I had my midwife appointment today and she felt what position baby is in, and her head is started to engage already which she said is unusual for second bubs they don't usually head down until the last minute. I don't think it means she'll come early, on time would be nice though :)
Also on that note I hope she is a she, my mum has just come back from Perth and was told by my cousin that they had 3 scans saying it was a girl and then out popped a boy. And my Thai facial lady today said, oh no I think you look like you're having a boy, i've never been wrong. WELL she better be wrong!! We've got loads of pink clothes thanks to Lisa, and when i post a pic of bubs room you'll see hints of pink there too. Well time will tell.
Here are some pics of Nathan at Lollipops and on Nan's purple couch watching his favourite Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Also some of my crafty creations that have not yet made it on the the walls. Some pink flowers on canvas for bubs room, and the fishooks for the office.

Last week we celebrated Jades birthday. Jade is our friends Adam and Katie's daughter, and also Aylas cousin. They were over from Brisbane to celebrate. The kids had a great time eating all the sugary treats, and the adults had a good feed too!!

Ayla's birthday

A month late but heres some pics from Ayla's 2nd Birthday. It was a bit wet but it was still a nice afternoon out chasing the birds down at Western Springs.

The Belly Ya'll

Alright, if due dates are anything to go by, which they're not :) I've officially got about 5.5 weeks to go. Feeling pretty massive and sleeping is quite uncomfortable, although I seem to be sleeping quite well really, not peeing too much, it's just when I wake up to turn over, it's a mission!! My boss at work is pretty sweet and even though I'm only there for 3 hours, she let's me go home early most days, because it's late in the afternoon when I'm feeling a bit tired it's very handy! Things are coming together round the house, we love our new office space!! And Nathan loves his new room. I'll post some pics soon. I just have to do a bit of tidying in the baby's room and put clothes away and we're sorted.

Bob the Builder

Sunday night we had the Aspins over for tea. Lisa has sewn some Roman blinds for our new office/rumpus room and they bought them over (they look great!!). Nathan had fun with Rios and Tehran playing with the tools that actually used to belong to Rios :)

Last holiday as family of 3

Well in around 8 weeks time we will be a family of four, and holidaying will involve even more packing and a whole new dynamic with two kiddies. Also with Dean doing lots of work at work and lots of work around the house he decided to take a few days off and we headed up North to Coopers Beach. The weather was pleasant and allowed us to do a lot and rest a lot.
Here's what we did...
-Trips to beach to make sandcastles
-Dean did some house painting for his Dad
-I did some little projects I wanted to get done for Nathan's room and our new office
-Nathan played with homemade playdough
-Ate fish and chips at Mangonui fish shop (the best!!)
-Fishing (no luck this time round)
-DVD watching
-Afternoon Naps
-Took lots of photos as you can see...

10 Weeks to go

I had a midwife appointment today, they will be fortnightly from now on. I told Nathan we were off to hear baby's heartbeat, and over dinner he said to Dad "Baby's heart". Everything is going good, other than a bit of back pain and other typical aches and pains. I need to get off my behind and do some exercise, that's what I really need to do, but will I, hmmm that is the question :) Still got over 2 months to go which is good still got a bit of time up our sleeves. Should go out for dinner a couple of times and maybe a movie or something to make the most of it.

Mummy crumbing chicken for tea and Nathan having some 'water play' to keep him occupied until dad gets home for rough and tumbles. Nathan says "Daddy let's play orf orf" Which are his wrestling noises, boys are so rough!!

Here's the bump at 30.5 weeks

Project 3 - Part 1

Project 3 is turning the garage into the office/rumpus area. It was a storage nightmare, just randomly filled with everything. This meant we needed to find somewhere else for it all which we did in the form of a cool timber garden shed. So once we emptied it all out, it was ready to put the ranch slider in. Now that that's done we're ready (well Dean is) to paint the walls, then we'll get some flooring done, and shift everything in. Thanks to Mum, Dad and Uncle Dan for coming up to help with it all. I felt pretty hopeless not being able to do much, but yay for awesome family who are happy to help!! I'll post part 2 once we've got it all set up... Be a few weeks off but keep an eye out :)
